*Warning* This is a long post, but I have been AWFUL at recording about the kids, so I covered a lot.
We have fallen more and more in love with you each day since that day, three years ago, that you finally came into the outside world. You are goofy and loving and passionate. I can't believe you're 3...technically a preschooler...such a big boy!!
Here are some more things about you:
- You love your sister so much. At times ya'll argue, but it's an even bigger feat to keep you away from each other. You just enjoy being together. You look out for her and learned quickly how to (unprompted and unassisted) ask if she's ok, give her kisses and offer apologies whenever you need to. You give her hugs throughout the day and make sure to go in and say "sweet dreams" when she's going to sleep.
- You love anything trains or cars, and are especially fond of Thomas characters and the cast of Cars, the movie.
- You enjoy dressing up, whether it's merely putting on your snow or rain boots or dressing up with Ansley in her bracelets, necklaces, and glasses.
- You love McDonalds ("Mcdowls"), but I think that's because it's our only real option for eating out easily in Cape Charles. You truly love "Chick-away" and ask to eat there when we're across in Va Beach.
- You love to look at books and be read to. Your favorite books are "The Little Engine that Could" and "Sea, Sand, Me". You also like your Dr. Seuss books. You amaze us daily at your ability to recite parts of books with us.
- The last few weeks, you've really been into singing (especially in the car). You love your "Veggie Tales Sunday School" cd and ALWAYS ask for "Ight a Mine". You also ask for your other "kids singin" cds, but are very gracious and understanding when mommy or daddy want to listen to "mommy or daddy music".
- Sleep times have almost always been a battle throughout these 3 years, but lately it's gotten so much better. You usually take your nap at noon, if it's much later, you have a hard time going to sleep. You usually sleep for 2-3 hours and I have to wake you up, or else you have a difficult time sleeping at night. You usually go to bed around 8 or 8:30 pm, but don't fall asleep for another hour or more. You spend the evening looking at books or playing with cars in your bed. (You go to bed and fall asleep much earlier if you haven't napped.) You wake up between 7 and 8 am.
- You are still a SUPER eater. You still have never gone through an especially picky time. You love veggies (other than peas) and even eat salad. You gobble up green beans or broccoli before anything else on your plate.
- I think you're excited about having another little sister. You like to push on mommy's belly, looking for Baby to move around. You've even asked to "go in there and play".
- You've really grown in your speech/speaking over the past few weeks, too. You often ask "what's mommy doing?" "what's caedmon doing?" etc...
- You love to take baths or showers, but I think it's because it puts off bedtime a little longer.
- Although we've been "at it" with potty training since last summer, you seem to really be getting the hang of it for yourself lately. You usually don't have many accidents, but I think it's been because we make you go to the bathroom throughout the day. Now, you're going by yourself, unprompted and, for the most part, unassisted.
- You have great manners, usually saying "yes mam/sir", "no thank you", "excuse me", etc. We still have some work to do, but you've really grown in your obedience, too.
That's it for now...I'm sure I'll think of more to add. Here are some pictures of the last few weeks!
